Positano - Day 4
Another early morning to catch the ferry to Positano.
When you arrive at the dock, you need to check in with the ticket office to scan your emailed QR code to print the ticket for the round trip ferry. We spoke to a very nice Canadian couple while waiting on the ferry to arrive. They told us about their adventures in Italy and we shared the same.
It was nice to know we were boarding a Picasso.
The seas were calm and the two hours to arrive went by quickly .
This was our first photo of Positano approaching by sea.
We heard the bells ringing of a near by church (Parrocchia Santa Maria) and decided to climb the stairs to see if we could view the inside. When we arrived there was a confirmation service in attendance,
so we could only view the church from the entrance.
It’s fascinating to see how they incorporate a foundation into the rock to build a home.
Outside many stores there are beautiful planted flowers.
Lunchtime.
Caprese Salad
Fresh baked bread with olive oil & balsamic vinegar.
Linguine di Gragnano alle vongole e limone
(Linguine from Gragnano with clams & lemon)
Spaghettone di Gragnano aglio e olio, pomodorini e olive nere
(Spaghettoni from Gragnano with garlic & oil, cherry tomatoes & black olives)
All of the restaurants have beautiful planted flowers surrounding them.
The beach was quite busy but nether one of us brought our one piece.
We decided to head up another group of stairs to see more shops.
All of these platters ranged from 19 inches to 27 inches and were priced from $150.00 to over $300.00
as all are one of a kind originals.
I bought every one of these and with shipping they should all arrive by the end of June.
After our final shopping we noticed an open gate and found that there was a free art exhibit
by a local artist.
Lemons seem to grow wild everywhere.
Cute cactus garden made out of a bed frame.
Art or creative idea?
We stopped for water and ended up getting a dessert as well.
As our day was ending, this lion seemed sad to see us go.
It was a great day in Positano.
In the end, we were hooked.
